From a very young age, when the other kids wanted to be doctors, police officers, and firemen, Ashley told everyone “I want to be an author-illustrator!” Ashley’s mom encouraged her to make art, in all different forms from painting, crochet, paper collage, ceramics, you name it! Ashley was born in England, but moved all over the US and Europe due to her father’s job, which has greatly shaped her world view. Ashley says, “I learned that no matter how much we all are different, we at the core are very much the same.” Reading is a passion of Ashley’s and she believes all children deserve excellent books to foster a lifelong joy in reading.

When not creating, Ashley enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach (gulf coast please!), reading, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
